Persuasion is a critical communication function. Much of our personal and professional success comes from our ability to get things done with and through others. We need to be able to build effective relationships and overcome conflict and differences, in order to influence the thinking, perceptions, and actions of others. This course considers theory and research in persuasion, influence, and negotiation, and considers the potential effects of persuasive and influential communications. Prerequisites: MB109/OL109 or MB200/OL200 recommended.
